Some fanart for Dave Flora's Doc Monster character.

I wanted to make something that felt like a 1950s movie poster, which was a big challenge as i've never done something like that before with so many different elements and a more abstract composition. I hated doing the UFOs and the cars at the drive-in... they took ages they were so damn fiddly. I also had a hard time colouring George Reeves' skin... colouring black-and-white pictures is something i bend over backwards to avoid as i don't think it ever turns out convincing, but this time i got pretty lucky.

It was Dave's suggestion to use George Reeves, and he kindly sent me some pictures for reference. Unfortunately the head that was originally on that body was no use, so i had to find another one. I also tinkered with the dimensions of the body and gave the guy Liam Neeson's hair.

Keen/nerdy movie fans might notice the tagline and credits are pinched from the original Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers movie poster. I needed another actor's name for the poster because it looked odd with just George Reeves on there, so i decided Joseph Cotten could fill in as Doc's sidekick Carson Clay.
